My name is Jacob Miller and I am a home inspector. I specialize in residential single family home inspections. I have 15 years of work experience in the construction industry from a wide range of disciplines including HVAC, plumbing, framing, and electrical. I began to explore subjects based on home building sciences with a major focus on issues we face here in Florida around 2006. I am trained as a Class 1 Energy Rater, which includes whole house leakage tests, duct leakage test, and home energy audits.
I have worked as a superintendent for a construction company that specialized in remodeling existing homes. My responsibilities included demolition, design, and building using modern building practices. Most of my experience comes from working in the HVAC industry. I have spent years serving the needs of customers looking to resolve concerns in their homes. Those problems range from HVAC system replacement, humidity issues, airflow issues, dirty sock syndrome, and unique ventilation issues effecting Florida home owners.
I am proud to have been born and raised in the Tampa Bay area. Growing up in this area, I have watched as the once rural, agricultural community filled with orange groves and strawberry fields, has become a thriving community. As the population grows, so does the demand for housing. Buying a home is one of the most important decisions you'll ever make.
The home-buying process is long and rigorous process. You often spend months searching for the right home before you make an offer and once an offer is made and accepted, you must jump through several more hoops before the sale closes. An important part of this process is the home inspection, where a professional makes sure everything in the house is functioning properly and identifies needed repairs.
